Need help with footers on Microsoft Word!?

I am making a template for a person that needs a footer to appear only on the last page. The template will be used to create reports of varying lengths. Each report will need the footer only on the last page, but since each report he will be making will be different in length I cannot set a standard page for the footer to appear on in the master template.

Is there a way to have Microsoft word automatically put a footer only on the last page of a document without knowing and/or typing in the number of the last page? Thanks!

I do not know if there's a built in way of doing this... but you could write a macro that executes on a specified event. This macro would check which is the last page and insert a footer.

You might wanna run this macro at the time when the document is closed... or choose another event of your choice.
