Hii. i need help on my microsoft word.?

okay, along time ago on my Microsoft word document i was playing around with different things on it. somehow i managed to change my main display page to a picture of me and my friend and i had written words above it. now, every single time i open up my microsoft word page it shows this picture and words. it's not that big a deal but now evereytime i have to type something, i have to pull up microsoft word, then delete the picture and text. i have already posted an ask question about this, and alot of smart people replied. unfortuanaly im only 14 and have no idea what the heck a template is, and dictionary.com isnt helping to much. i need step by step directions on how to change my main page back to a blank document so i dont have to delete something everytime i go onto my microsoft word document. ive included a picture of what the page looks like every time i open up microsoft word. [please help! carmen.

Hii. i need help on my microsoft word.?microsoft project

A template is the file that Word uses as a starting point when you click File-%26gt;New or CTRL/N. In particular, it has the first page (usually empty). Somehow you replaced the basic template, Normal.dot, with one that has your unwanted stuff on it.

Here's what you do (and thanks for making me rethink how to describe this to simplify it):

1. Open Word.

2. Click on the File-%26gt;Save menu item.

3. In the "File of Type" list box, scroll down to Document Templates. The directory should change and there should be a Normal.dot file in it. DO NOT save the file. Click the Cancel button instead.

4. Click on the File-%26gt;Open menu item.

5. Select Normal.dot.

6. Normal.dot should become your open document. Edit it so your text and pictures are gone. In fact, to be sure you get everything, click the Show/Hide button (?) on the toolbar and make sure the ONLY thing on the page is a single ?. You can click Show/Hide again to hide it

7. Save the file with File-%26gt;Save. You may get a warning message about the Global template having been changed. This is OK. Click Yes.

8. Click the File-%26gt;New menu item. The page that comes up should be blank.

9. Click on the File-%26gt;Save menu item.

10. Navigate back to where you normally save your files. You don't actually have to save this one, so just click Cancel when you're there.

11. Close Word.

The next time you open Word, check that you'll save files where you really want them (Word tries to be too smart and remember where you were last time. This isn't always where you want to be THIS time.)

That should do it. Good luck.
